The dreams of Pharaoh

Here we witness dreams, power, and destiny unfold. The panel centers on the dreams of Pharaoh’s cupbearer and baker—three clusters of grapes, three baskets of bread. Joseph interprets them, and the Torah verses appear below like scrolls unrolling their meaning.

Seven thin cows & Seven fat cows

Below, seven thin cows with sapphire-blue eyes represent spiritual faith in famine. Seven fat cows with emerald-green eyes embody abundance.

In the middle stands the name of Pharaoh: Sesostris I, the ruler many believe reigned during Joseph’s time. He was known for storing grain during seven years of abundance—his great White Chapel appears in the background.

Joseph & Pharaoh

Joseph holds up his right hand—symbol of giving—his staff shaped like a Vav. His left hand lowers, reflecting humility. Pharaoh, in contrast, raises his left hand—representing the act of receiving. Their gestures echo deeper spiritual roles.
