The Mystery Within the Name
On Judah’s chest piece, the Hebrew inscription of his name contains a small triangle pointing to the letter Dalet (ד). This letter shares a root with "Delet" (door), reminding us that Judah serves as the doorway to a greater divine mission.
A Journey Through the Tribes
The fan-shaped compartments on the right celebrate the individual tribes. Each section incorporates three core elements: a Zodiac sign (such as the bull, wolf, or snake), a natural element symbol (the triangle), and a sacred gemstone from the High Priest’s breastplate (the Choshen).
Sacred Numbers and Light
The composition features 10 sapphires (recalling the Ten Commandments) and 13 emeralds (representing God’s Thirteen Attributes of Mercy). Executed in the style of Vitraux (stained glass), the painting creates a luminous effect where scripture and imagery interlock like the windows of the synagogue.
