Israeli Knesset Friendship Delegation Led by MK Boaz Toporovsky Visits JCC

On September 17, the Jeffrey D. Schwartz Jewish Community Center (JCC) had the honor of welcoming the delegation from the Israeli Knesset. The delegation was led by Head of the Israeli Knesset delegation Boaz Toporovsky, joined by Members of Knesset Michal Shir Segman, Debbie Biton, Shalom Danino, Eli Dallal, Yael Ron Ben Moshe, and parliamentary adviser Adi Shoham. This marked MK Boaz Toporovsky’s second visit to JCC this year, following his trip in April 2025.

Guided by JCC founder Jeffrey D. Schwartz, the delegation toured the Mikveh, the Synagogue, and the collection of 17th-century Torah scrolls, expressing awe at both their history and beauty. MK Shalom Danino was particularly moved, praising these achievements as the result of a lifetime’s dedication, and describing the skylight of the Synagogue as something that “touched his soul.”

During the kosher banquet that followed, the delegation enjoyed a rare taste of authentic kosher cuisine in Taiwan. After the meal, MK Boaz Toporovsky presented a statement signed by 72 members of the Knesset—representing a majority of Israel’s parliament—expressing support for Taiwan’s participation in international affairs. MK Michal Shir Segman also presented “Bring Them Home Now” necklaces, bracelets, and pins, carrying a message of solidarity and the Jewish people’s call for peace and unity.
That day, JCC was not only a showcase of Jewish culture, but also a living testament to Chaverut—friendship.

In Taipei, this bond shone with a light that reaches from Jerusalem. ✨
