In the book of Esther, the name for the holiday Purim derives from wicked Haman's pūr (פּוּר, “lot”) to determine what day to attack the Jews.
What is done on Purim?
1. On the evening and morning of the holiday, the scroll of Megillah, the Book of Esther, which tells the story of Purim, is read aloud.

What is the Purim tradition?
Purim is one of the few Jewish holidays that has a dynamic and joyful atmosphere.
Children also come to Purim in costume and participate in costume parties
The absolute must-have food is hamantaschen , a triangular-shaped cookie with various sweet fillings.
Traditionally, Jews fast on the eve of Purim to commemorate the righteous act of Queen Esther who fasted to pray to God to save the Jewish people.
