A warm welcome to our distinguished guest from Israel—Mayor Benny Biton of Dimona!
Amid his packed schedule at the Taipei Smart City Summit, Mayor Biton made time to visit the Jeffrey D. Schwartz Jewish Community Center for a heartwarming and eye-opening cultural experience.
A passionate leader in education, innovation, and urban development, Mayor Biton was immediately struck by the beauty of our synagogue. “Wow, this is unbelievable!” he exclaimed upon entering.
From the Mikveh (ritual bath) to the Synagogue, every corner left him in awe, and he couldn’t stop marveling, “It’s all so beautiful!”
Later that evening, Mayor Biton enjoyed a delicious meal at the only Kosher-certified restaurant in Taiwan, savoring classic Jewish dishes—each bite met with delight!
The visit was personally hosted by our founder, Mr. Schwartz, who guided the mayor through the center with great care—sharing not only the history and structure, but also the faith, daily life, and future vision of our Jewish community in Taiwan.
