A Cross-Cultural Encounter|When Reichman University Meets Jewish Taiwan
Under the arrangement of Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we welcomed faculty and students from 🇮🇱 Reichman University (Israel) to the Jeffrey D. Schwartz Jewish Community Center (JCC).
They stepped into our thoughtfully designed Temple plaza and mikveh, amazed by the soul and beauty of the space—from the architectural details full of design language to the cultural treasures housed within, each step felt like walking into another chapter of history.
In our museum, the students were especially moved by one of our most precious artifacts: a 17th-century Torah scroll from Tunisia. The Torah lies at the heart of Jewish culture and faith, a source of wisdom and spiritual heritage passed down through generations.
As evening fell, the group joined our Shabbat dinner, seated around the table with our community founder Mr. Jeffrey D. Schwartz, and experienced the rituals and blessings that have been passed down in Jewish families for centuries.
Students remarked,
"The tour was informative , knowledgeable as well as entertaining and we all really had a very good time."
🤍We’re grateful for your visit. It brought warmth and depth to this meaningful cross-cultural exchange.
Shalom(שָׁלוֹם)
