AIPAC Delegation Arrived in Taiwan – First stop at the Jeffrey D. Schwartz Jewish Community Center

On October 24, the AIPAC delegation arrived in Taiwan, making their first stop at the Jeffrey D. Schwartz Jewish Community Center (JCC).

As the delegation stepped onto the 4th-floor Temple Plaza, the welcome cocktail reception kicked off under tents and warm lighting. Despite the light rain that day, the JTCA team greeted each guest with a heartfelt “Shalom,” adding a sense of familiarity to this trans-Pacific encounter.

In the afternoon, the Kosher Culinary Lab prepared a selection of exquisite kosher hors d’oeuvres, including the classic Falafel, sweet Jewish Honey Cake, and the fragrant  Malabi. Guests enjoyed these delicacies while experiencing the thoughtfulness and warmth of Jewish kosher cuisine, making the cocktail reception a true cultural exchange.

The delegation then moved to the JCC Ballroom for lectures and a panel discussion. Minister of Foreign Affairs, Lin Chia-lung, shared Taiwan’s resilience across technology, economy, and culture, highlighting the importance of international cooperation. Following the lecture, JTCA Founder Jeffrey D. Schwartz engaged in an in-depth dialogue with AIPAC International Affairs Director Stephen Schneider, discussing the roots of Jewish culture in Taiwan and the role of JCC as a hub for culture and community. The exchange was sincere and inspiring.

The delegation was led by President Bernard Kaminetsky, Board Chair Michael Tuchin, CEO Elliot Brandt, COO Arne Christenson, and International Affairs Director Stephen Schneider, making it one of AIPAC’s largest overseas visits in recent years.

This day was not only a visit from international guests but also a vivid demonstration of Jewish-Taiwanese cultural connection. JCC continues to serve as a bridge, fostering understanding, friendship, and a shared future.
