World Tennis Day Taiwan First Celebration

March 1, the Jeffrey D. Schwartz Jewish Community Center hosted the “World Tennis Day Taiwan First Celebration,” welcoming a vibrant gathering filled with energy and exchange.

World Tennis Day was launched by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) in 2013 with the goal of encouraging more people to discover and participate in the sport of tennis, allowing its spirit and passion to be shared across the world.

This event was initiated and organized by Ms. Catherine SHIAO, the global official representative of the Rafa Nadal Academy, who chose JCC as the venue for this meaningful occasion—marking the first celebration of World Tennis Day in Taiwan.

The gathering welcomed a number of distinguished guests, including Mr. Chang Szu-Min, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Taipei Tennis Association, and Mr. Jeffrey D. Schwartz, founder of JTCA, among others, who came together to witness this special moment.

The event was arranged in a high-table standing reception format, allowing guests to move freely, engage in relaxed conversations, and naturally immerse themselves in the welcoming atmosphere. JCC also prepared an elegant afternoon tea from the Kosher Culinary Lab, offering guests the opportunity to enjoy kosher delicacies while connecting with one another.

Through the combination of sports, culture, and community exchange, the gathering not only brought tennis enthusiasts together, but also marked a warm and memorable beginning for the celebration of World Tennis Day in Taiwan. We are honored to have hosted this occasion, and JCC looks forward to continuing to bring people together through diverse cultural and sporting activities in the future, creating many more meaningful moments.
