Reichman University Visits the JCC for the Third Consecutive Year

🇮🇱🤝🇹🇼 Across Half the Globe | Reichman University Visits the JCC for the Third Consecutive Year

This year, with the support of Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Israel, and the collaborative efforts of many partners, students and faculty from Reichman University once again visited Taiwan and made their third visit to the Jeffrey D. Schwartz Jewish Community Center (JCC).

This continuing exchange reflects the enduring friendship between Taiwan and Israel while allowing meaningful cultural dialogue to grow stronger with each new generation of students.

The visit was guided by JTCA Public Relations Alex, who introduced the group to the Center's remarkable collection of Judaica, offering insight into thousands of years of Jewish history, heritage, and tradition. The delegation also toured Taiwan's only mikveh (ritual bath) built in accordance with Jewish law, as well as the synagogue, whose design beautifully blends traditional Jewish values with the contemporary vision of the Center's founder, Mr. Jeffrey D. Schwartz.

Beyond its architecture and collections, the visit offered students a deeper understanding of how the Jewish community in Taiwan preserves its faith, traditions, and communal life. The JCC is not only a place where history is preserved—it is a living Jewish community center where Jewish life continues to flourish every day.

One of the most rewarding moments is seeing the amazement shared by each new group of students. Many never imagined that nearly halfway around the world from Israel, they would discover such a vibrant and beautifully designed Jewish community center, dedicated to preserving and celebrating Jewish heritage.

Cultural preservation is about far more than safeguarding historical artifacts; it is about keeping traditions alive through everyday life. Even for Jewish visitors, opportunities to explore the deeper stories behind these treasures—or to witness how a Jewish community has taken root and continues to thrive abroad—are truly meaningful. Through each visit, we hope more young Jews will reconnect with their own heritage while people from different backgrounds gain a deeper appreciation for the unique story of Jewish life in Taiwan.

For many years, JTCA has proudly served as a bridge between Taiwan and Israel, and the JCC is honored to be an important part of that ongoing journey. We believe every encounter plants the seeds of greater understanding, and every conversation brings our communities closer together.

We wish all the students of Reichman University every success in the future. May this experience in Taiwan inspire new perspectives, lasting friendships, and meaningful memories. Wherever life may take you, we hope you will always remember that in Taiwan, there is a Jewish community center that will always welcome you back.

Shalom (שָׁלוֹם) 💙
