Announcing a momentous achievement at The Jeffrey D. Schwartz Museum of Jewish Art & Judaica
Dear friends,
Mauricio Ayayu's culmination of years of dedication and passion in creating oil paintings that bring the first book of the Torah, "Genesis" (known to the Jewish people as Bereshith), to life. These eight large murals, each measuring 1.2m x 2m, intricately unravel the profound narratives of the world's creation, concealing within them the secrets of the Torah.
Adorning the walls of the Jewish Community Center's symbolic Ballroom, these murals captivate observers with their breathtaking details, rich storytelling, and profound symbolic meanings. Now, expanding upon the existing collection, the JCC proudly presents the final five masterpieces of Mauricio's Genesis series. Delving into chapters like 'Garden of Eden,' 'Noah's Ark,' 'The City and Tower of Babel,' 'The Covenant Of Abraham And TheThree Angels,' and 'Blind Isaac Giving Jacob His Blessing,' each piece is a two-year labor of artistic mastery.

As Mauricio's global recognition continues to soar, the JCC is filled with immense joy and pride. In this new chapter, we have uncovered delightful surprises specially added by Mauricio for NaTang and I. Previous visitors may anticipate these pleasant additions.
Hurry to the JCC, join us in marveling at Mauricio's remarkable 'Genesis' series, and unveil the myriad hidden surprises within the paintings. Brace yourself for the awe-inspiring grandeur of the 'Genesis' series, destined to become an unforgettable experience.
We are confident that with time, these paintings will ascend to the ranks of the most significant contemporary Jewish art works globally. Enthusiasts from near and far will undoubtedly pilgrimage to witness the glory encapsulated within Mauricio's 'Genesis' murals and only available for view at the Jeffrey D. Schwartz Jewish Community Center in Taiwan.

Memorable Hanukkah Delight: Illuminating
Taipei with Joy and Unity in 5784
The celebration of Hanukkah in the Jewish year 5784 has come to a joyful close, but the memories of that day, filled with laughter, energy, and emotion, linger on. Members of the Jewish community gathered beneath the stunning backdrop of Taipei 101, spending a beautiful evening together.
Under the lovely weather, children extended their little hands to join adults in preparing for the event. The earnest participation in DIY activities brought a warmth and emotion that remains unforgettable. This resonates deeply with our cherished Jewish values of unity and the importance of family.
After a delightful afternoon of celebrations, as night fell, the climax of the festival arrived—the lighting ceremony of the Hanukkah menorah! Led by Rabbi Shlomi Tabib, people prayed and lit the candles. Against the backdrop of the beautiful Taipei 101, it was a heartwarming and joyous celebration.
Delicious traditional treats, entertaining DIY activities, and spectacular performances made the celebration a joy for everyone. Even many passing Taiwanese friends, drawn by the captivating performances, joined us to experience the beauty of Hanukkah.
As balloons symbolizing peace ascended, echoing the blue and white colors of Israel, everyone made wishes, sending them together towards the sky.
What a beautiful day, blending religious traditions, meaningful celebrations, and entertainment for all ages. We not only illuminated Hanukkah but also illuminated Taipei. May this beautiful spirit continue to light up our lives and the world in the coming year.
Let's enjoy some photos from the 5784 Hanukkah celebration and relive the emotions of that day together!
Warm Regards,
Jeffrey D. Schwartz & NaTang
