Located in southern Israel, Urim Base serves as one of the country's key military installations and was among the areas affected during the October 7, 2023 terrorist attacks. For the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) personnel stationed there, the base represents far more than a place of service. It carries the memories of fallen comrades, the longing for loved ones back home, and the enduring responsibility of defending the nation.
Against this backdrop, the establishment of a synagogue carries significance far beyond the construction of a building.
Recently, Jeffrey D. Schwartz, Founder of the Jewish Taiwan Cultural Association (JTCA), donated the Urim Synagogue at Urim Base, creating a dedicated place for prayer, faith, and spiritual reflection for the soldiers serving on the front lines. The dedication ceremony was jointly officiated by Jeffrey D. For soldiers stationed far from their families, the Urim Synagogue will provide a sacred place to welcome Shabbat, pray for loved ones, remember fallen comrades, and find inner peace amid the uncertainty of war. More than a place of worship, it will serve as a source of resilience, unity, and spiritual strength.
For many years, Jeffrey D. During the ceremony, Jeffrey D. JTCA（Jewish Taiwan Cultural Association） is pleased to introduce a new selection of Kosher Black Feather Native Chicken, offering members of the Jewish community, our members, and all who appreciate kosher cuisine the opportunity to enjoy premium chicken prepared in accordance with Jewish dietary law here in Taiwan.
The Black Feather Native Chicken is carefully selected for its mature growth, firm yet tender texture, balanced distribution of natural fat, and rich, juicy flavor. Whether roasted, braised, or pan-seared, it offers exceptional taste and quality, making it a premium choice for a wide variety of dishes.
Yet the true value of Kosher poultry lies in more than the quality of the breed. It reflects thousands of years of Jewish dietary wisdom embodied in Halacha (Jewish law), together with an unwavering commitment to life, faith, and quality.
Every batch of kosher chicken is prepared in accordance with strict kosher requirements, including:
• Slaughter performed by a professionally trained and certified Shochet.
• The use of a specially inspected, perfectly smooth, and razor-sharp knife to minimize the animal's suffering.
• Careful inspection of every chicken after slaughter to ensure it meets kosher standards.
• A Koshering process that removes blood through salting and related procedures, as Jewish dietary law prohibits the consumption of blood.
• Supervision by a Rabbi throughout the entire process to ensure full compliance with kosher requirements.
