We had the pleasure of welcoming students and faculty from Dharma Realm Buddhist University, led by Vice President Dr. Shih-You Wu, who traveled from the United States to visit the Jeffrey D. Schwartz Jewish Community Center (JCC).
The visit offered a closer look into Jewish community life, and gave our guests the opportunity to observe how cultural values are reflected in architecture, daily operations, and food.
Architecture That Speaks
As part of the tour, Chairman Ching-Yi Wu of Lung Tsai Architecture, the design firm behind the JCC, introduced the ideas behind the space—from layout and natural lighting to symbolic choices in materials and flow. Every element expresses a deep respect for religion, education, and human well-being. The JCC itself has become a kind of modern Mishkan—a space where tradition and design meet to tell a story.
Kosher Cuisine, Reimagined
Lunch was served at our Kosher Culinary Lab, where a special ovo-vegetarian and vegan meal was prepared. The dishes offered a fresh take on plant-based cuisine, inspired by kosher principles and the creativity of Jewish food culture. Many were surprised by the richness and nuance of the flavors.
A Meal, A Meeting of Hearts
When people of different beliefs and traditions come together over a shared meal, that simple act often becomes a starting point for deeper connection.
We thank Dharma Realm Buddhist University for their visit, and look forward to more grounded, sincere exchanges in the future.

我們很高興接待來自法界佛教大學的師生，由吳適有副校長親自帶隊，從美國遠道而來，造訪薛智偉猶太社區中心（JCC）。這次交流不僅讓來訪者深入了解猶太文化與社區的日常運作，也實地觀察到文化價值如何在建築空間、社群互動與餐食體驗中具體展現。
猶太空間的文化語言
參訪過程中，由JCC設計團隊龍采設計的吳清義董事長親自導覽，介紹建築設計的理念與細節——從動線規劃、光線運用，到材質選擇，每一處都體現對「宗教與文化」、「教育意涵」以及「身心平衡」的思考與重視。這座建築本身，也像是一個訴說著記憶與傳承的現代「會幕（Mishkan）」。
潔食中的創意驚喜
午餐時段則在潔食實驗室進行，我們特別為此準備了蛋素與純素的猶太潔食料理，展現猶太飲食律法（Kosher）與當代表達的融合可能。餐點讓來訪的師生耳目一新，也讓素食的風味與層次有了不同的詮釋。
一場跨文化的真誠對話
當不同文化與信仰背景的人們能夠坐下來共進一餐，往往就是一段理解與連結的開始。感謝法界佛教大學的來訪，也期待未來更多像這樣真誠、平等的文化對話。

A Visit Across Borders
Under the arrangement of Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we were honored to welcome 🇮🇱 faculty and students from Reichman University to the Jeffrey D. Schwartz Jewish Community Center (JCC).
A Living Space of Culture and Memory
They explored the Temple plaza and mikveh, impressed by the harmony of design and soul. From architectural elements to historical artifacts, each step felt like entering a story told across generations.
A Touch of Tradition
At the museum, the group paused in front of a precious treasure: a 17th-century Torah scroll from Tunisia—a sacred object at the very heart of Jewish culture and spiritual continuity.
A Taste of Shabbat
As evening arrived, the group joined our Shabbat dinner, sharing the table with our founder Mr. Jeffrey D. Schwartz, and experiencing the blessings and traditions passed down through Jewish families.
Reflections and Smiles
One student remarked:
“The tour was informative, knowledgeable as well as entertaining—and we all really had a very good time!”

在外交部的安排下，我們迎來來自 🇮🇱 以色列瑞赫曼大學（Reichman University）的師生們，前來參訪薛智偉猶太社區中心（JCC）。
走進文化空間
在導覽中，他們參觀了聖殿廣場與浸禮堂，對空間的美感與靈魂印象深刻——從融合設計語彙的建築細節，到承載百年記憶的文物收藏，每一步都訴說著文化的重量。
猶太信仰的核心
同學們特別駐足於藝文博物館，欣賞豐富的典藏。其中最讓人動容的，是一卷來自17 世紀突尼西亞的妥拉（Torah）——這是猶太文化與信仰的核心，傳遞著智慧與精神的延續。
共享安息日的餐桌時光
夜幕降臨，師生們參加了 Shabbat 安息日晚餐，與中心創始人薛智偉先生共席，體驗世代傳承的猶太儀式與祝福。
交流回響
活動結束前，有同學開心地說：
「導覽非常精彩，內容深入淺出又很有趣，我們學到了很多，也玩得很開心！」

Since the launch of “Parents, Our Precious Ones Gratitude Day”, many families have joined us at the Kosher Culinary Lab, expressing heartfelt thanks to their parents and elders over a meaningful meal.
We captured touching moments—the laughter, the warmth—and received beautiful feedback filled with love.
It turns out, one meal really can bring hearts closer together.❤️

自從 「父母大寶貝感謝日」 開跑以來，許多家庭來到 潔食實驗室，用一頓飯向爸媽與長輩表達感謝。
我們捕捉下了許多動人的畫面——笑聲、擁抱、眼神裡的溫度，也收到了滿滿愛的回饋。
原來，一頓飯真的可以讓心靠得更近。❤️

When Ms. Rona Lalezary, founder of the Healing Blanket project, opened the package and saw the four canvases created by JTCA founder Mr. Jeffrey D. Schwartz, she couldn’t help but exclaim:
“OMG! This is STUNNING!!!”
In that moment, we were deeply moved — art created in Taiwan had resonated with a soul on the other side of the world.
These four canvases will soon be sewn into a blanket woven with art and compassion. They carry the values JTCA holds dear:
Chesed (loving-kindness)
Kehilla (community)
The hope for healing
This is the legacy we’ve inherited across generations: to be a light even from afar — Or LaGoyim.

We were honored to welcome distinguished guests from the Rotary Club of Taipei Tunghua to the Jeffrey D. Schwartz Jewish Community Center (JCC) to celebrate a meaningful milestone — their 30th anniversary!
In Jewish culture, there’s a saying:

Guests arrived in elegant attire and enjoyed an in-depth tour of our Jewish Art and Culture Museum.

A specially curated plant-based kosher menu brought together the spirit of kashrut and creative vegetarian cuisine.

Jubilee Biomedical hosted a private event at our Kosher Culinary Lab, combining a product showcase with a kosher buffet dinner.
As a saying in Jewish culture goes: “The table is a bridge.”
That evening, through food and conversation, people drew closer together.
