On December 14, the Jeffrey D. Schwartz Jewish Community Center (JCC) became the setting for a solemn yet gentle farewell. The In Loving Memory of Na Tang memorial service was held in honor of Na Tang, one of the founders of the Center and the beloved wife of Founder Jeffrey D. Schwartz.

On the day of the memorial, the JCC was filled with floral tributes from across Taiwan and abroad, representing the political and business sectors, the military and police, the academic and arts communities, as well as countless friends and admirers whose lives had been touched by Na Tang. Each bouquet represented a heartfelt gesture, a quiet testament to a life that had intersected with so many others.

Holding the memorial at the JCC carried profound meaning. This space was jointly created by Na Tang and Jeffrey D. Schwartz as a place for cultural exchange—one built upon dialogue, understanding, kindness, and connection. The memorial was thoughtfully arranged in two sessions, one for family and close friends and another open to fans, allowing everyone who wished to pay their respects to do so and to remember her grace one last time.

The ceremony began with a blessing offered by Rabbi Shlomi, followed by a moment of silence in her honor. A commemorative video then reflected on Na Tang’s life—her dedication to public service, her passion for cultural engagement, and her unwavering positive spirit. What emerged was the portrait of a woman of remarkable grace and compassion, someone who lived by the values she often shared:

“Life is a one-way ticket.

Keep yourself in a state of positivity, kind words, and kind actions,

so that you may make good use of this rare and precious journey.”

Following the video, Founder Jeffrey D. Schwartz delivered a heartfelt tribute to his beloved wife, expressing gratitude to all who had come to honor her memory. He shared that Na Tang had not wished for a memorial service during her lifetime, but if one were to be held, she hoped it would be spoken from the heart rather than read from a script. Through his sincere and unguarded words, the profound bond between them was deeply felt by everyone present.

The program continued with the screening of “Avinu Malkeinu,” a Hebrew sacred song sung by Na Tang herself. This piece, left by her as a gift to the world, carried her enduring wish for peace.

The memorial coincided with the first day of Hanukkah, the Jewish Festival of Lights. A Hanukkah menorah was prepared, and under the guidance of Jeffrey D. Schwartz, family and friends lit the candles together. The meaning behind each light was inspired by the wisdom Na Tang had shared in her podcast—each flame representing a treasure drawn from her reflections on life.

At the conclusion of the memorial, Jeffrey D. Schwartz unveiled a song recorded by Na Tang that had never been released during her lifetime. Completed through the collective efforts of many in tribute to her, the song was presented that day as a gift to family, friends, and fans alike—a message carried across time.

In light and music, the spirit of Na Tang was gently reawakened.

Though she has departed, the kindness, culture, and love she gave to the world continue to shine—within the JCC, and in the hearts of all who remember her.

追思會當日，JCC 現場佈滿來自海內外各界的花束，涵蓋政商界、軍警界以及學藝界，以及無數深受坣娜感動的朋友與支持者。每一束花，都是一份心意，也是一段與她生命軌跡交會過的記憶。

追思會選擇於 JCC 舉行，意義格外深遠。這個空間，正是由坣娜與薛智偉先生共同打造的文化交流場域——一個承載對話、理解、善意與連結的所在。當日活動分為親友場與粉絲場，讓所有希望親自向坣娜致意的人，都能在此道別、致謝，並留住她最後的風采。

活動開始，由 Rabbi Shlomi 為坣娜獻上祝禱，並帶領全場默哀。隨後播放的回顧 VCR，呈現了坣娜的一生：她的公益行動、文化推廣，以及始終如一的正向能量。畫面中所展現的，是一位氣質非凡、心向良善的人，正如她曾分享的一句話：

「人生是一場單程票，

給自己時時處在正向、善言善語、善行的狀態，

幫助自己善用這一趟難得的旅程。」

回顧影片結束後，創始人薛智偉先生為摯愛獻上祝福致詞，並向所有關心坣娜、前來致意的親友與來賓表達感謝。他也分享了一段深刻而真誠的心聲——其實坣娜不希望舉辦追思會；但既然都要舉辦了，有那麼多的演講，她會希望我用真心去講，而不去背一個稿子。薛先生以最真摯的情感，讓在場每一位都感受到他與坣娜之間深不可分的連結。

隨後播放的，是由坣娜親自演唱的希伯來文聖歌〈Avinu Malkeinu〉。這首歌，是她留給世界的禮物，也是一首祈願和平的歌曲。

當日亦適逢猶太光明節（Hanukkah）第一天。追思會特別準備了光明節燭台，在薛智偉先生的帶領下，親友一同點燃蠟燭。這些燭光的意義，取自坣娜於 Podcast 中分享的生活智慧——每一道光，都是她留給世界的寶藏。

追思會最後，薛先生首度公開坣娜生前未曾發表的歌曲。這首作品，因這場追思會而集結眾人的力量完成，並在這一天，獻給所有親友與粉絲，成為一份跨越時光的禮物。

在光與音樂之中，坣娜的精神再次被溫柔地喚醒。

她離開了，但她所留下的善意、文化與愛，仍在 JCC、也在每一位記得她的人心中，持續發光。

JPB Debuts in Taiwan

From International Prayer to Cultural Dialogue

The Jerusalem Prayer Breakfast (JPB) made its debut in Taiwan this year, marking a new milestone for this global gathering that bridges faith, public dialogue, and international connection.

The Taiwan edition was jointly sponsored by Zoe Arts Foundation (Chairperson Ginny Chien) and the Jewish Taiwan Cultural Association (JTCA, Founder Jeffrey D. Schwartz), making Taipei the newest host city of JPB.

Since its inception by the Israeli Knesset and international leaders, JPB has been held in Jerusalem, London, Rome, Uganda, and Singapore. The Taipei gathering represents not only a geographic expansion, but also Taiwan’s growing role as a cultural gateway for understanding Israel in Asia.

Dec 7 Opening Night｜Where Music, Faith, and Global Connection Meet

The opening night on December 7 took place at the Taipei Marriott Hotel.

Global parliamentarians, religious leaders, artists, and cultural advocates gathered for an evening of music and shared reflections.

Dec 8 Breakfast Prayer｜Taiwan’s Role Comes into Focus

On December 8, the JPB Breakfast Prayer Session was held at the same venue.

Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim attended and emphasized that the gathering reflected a spirit of unity that transcends borders and beliefs—an embodiment of mutual respect across faiths and cultures.

She noted that Taiwan values peace, resilience, and mutual respect, and is honored to host a space where diverse voices can meet through open dialogue, sincere prayer, and shared aspirations.

The prayer theme was drawn from Psalm 122:6, “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.”

Through prayer and conversation, participants expressed care not only for Jerusalem, but also for global peace, human dignity, and understanding.

Evening Gala｜Music as a Continuing Dialogue

The Founders Gala Dinner on the evening of December 8 extended the day’s conversations through music and artistic performance.

The classic Jewish song “Hava Nagila” filled the room with joy, transforming dialogue into genuine human connection.

Through the first two days of JPB in Taipei, Taiwan demonstrated not only its capacity to host international gatherings, but also its emerging role as a meaningful bridge between Israel, Asia, and the global community.

Jerusalem Prayer Breakfast（JPB）今年首次於臺灣舉行，為這項橫跨多國、連結信仰與公共對話的國際聚會，寫下新的里程碑。

本屆臺灣場由卓越藝術傳播基金會 Zoe Arts Foundation（董事長錢胡家琪 Ginny Chien）與猶台文化交流協會 JTCA（創始人薛智偉 Jeffrey D. Schwartz）共同贊助，促成 JPB 首度在臺北落地。

JPB 自以色列國會（Knesset）與國際領袖發起以來，曾於耶路撒冷、倫敦、羅馬、烏干達、新加坡等地舉行。臺北站的登場，不僅是地理上的延伸，也象徵臺灣在亞洲逐漸成為理解以色列、促進國際對話的重要文化節點。

12 月 7 日晚間，JPB 開幕晚會於台北萬豪酒店舉行。

12 月 8 日，JPB 早餐祈禱會於同場地舉行。

副總統蕭美琴蒞臨出席，並於致詞中指出，這場聚會展現了一種超越國界與信仰的合一精神——不只是禱告的時刻，更是跨文化、跨信仰彼此尊重的具體實踐。

她也表示，臺灣珍視和平、韌性與相互尊重，並以此為基礎，歡迎來自不同信仰與文化背景的聲音，在開放對話與共同願景中相遇。

本次早餐祈禱會主題取自《詩篇》122:6：「你們要為耶路撒冷求平安。」

在祈禱與交流之中，與會者不僅為耶路撒冷祝福，也象徵對全球和平、人性尊嚴與理解的共同關懷。

晚宴音樂｜讓交流持續發聲

12/8 晚間的 Founders Gala Dinner，以音樂與藝術延續白日的對話。

現場演奏經典猶太歌曲〈Hava Nagila〉，在歡欣與共鳴之中，文化交流不再只是理念，而成為真實的人際連結。

On December 9, the final day of the Jerusalem Prayer Breakfast (JPB) Taipei program, guests from around the world visited the Jeffrey D. Schwartz Jewish Community Center (JCC) for an immersive cultural experience rooted in daily Jewish life.

Entering the Rhythm of Jewish Culture

The delegation toured the JCC museum and facilities, learning about the Center’s mission, history, and role within the community.

Guided in small groups by the JTCA public affairs team, one group was joined by a rabbi in the synagogue, where male participants were invited to experience Tefillin, a central element of Jewish prayer.

For many, this was a rare opportunity to encounter Jewish spiritual practice up close—an experience that unfolded with respect, curiosity, and genuine exchange.

Another group, composed mostly of non-Jewish participants, explored Taiwan’s only synagogue, mikveh, and museum collections. Through this visit, they gained a deeper understanding of Jewish history, tradition, and values.

This embodied the spirit of JPB Taiwan:

even without prior familiarity with Judaism, guests could engage in meaningful cultural dialogue in Taiwan’s open and diverse society, where Jewish and Christian communities meet in friendship.

Kosher Luncheon｜Extending Dialogue at the Table

Following the tour, guests gathered in the JCC Ballroom for a Kosher luncheon prepared by the JTCA Kosher Culinary Lab.

More than a meal, the luncheon reflected the vision of JCC founder Jeffrey D. Schwartz—that food can serve as a natural gateway to culture.

Kosher cuisine emphasizes purity, simplicity, and intention, expressing values that shape Jewish daily life.

Around the shared table, guests tasted authentic Israeli flavors while conversations continued in an atmosphere of warmth and openness.

The luncheon became one of the most intimate and memorable moments of the three-day JPB program—a reminder that culture is often best understood through lived experience.

走進猶太文化的空間與節奏

訪團在 JCC 參觀博物館與各項設施，了解中心的成立背景、使命與日常運作。

由 JTCA 公關部門分組導覽，其中一組在猶太聖殿參訪時，由拉比協助男性來賓親身體驗 Tefillin（經文盒）這項猶太祈禱中的核心儀式。

這段體驗，讓不少來賓第一次如此近距離地理解猶太信仰如何融入生活，也在尊重與好奇之中，開啟了真誠而自然的交流。

另一組導覽成員多數並非猶太人，卻透過參觀全臺唯一的猶太聖殿、浸禮堂與博物館館藏，逐步理解猶太文化的歷史脈絡與精神內涵。

Kosher 午宴｜在餐桌上延續對話

文化體驗後，來賓於 JCC 大禮堂享用 Kosher 午宴，由 JTCA Kosher Culinary Lab 精心準備。

這不只是一頓餐點，更是一種文化表達。

在 JCC 創始人薛智偉（Jeffrey D. Schwartz）的理念中，餐桌是最自然的文化入口——透過飲食，讓人理解猶太生活中對秩序、節制與信仰的尊重。

Kosher 料理講求純淨、單純，卻不失風味。

在共享的餐桌上，來賓們不僅品嚐到道地的以色列風味，也讓對話在輕鬆而真誠的氛圍中持續延伸。

Commissioned by the Taipei Symphony Orchestra, Public Television Service (PTS) is producing a documentary honoring Maestro Eliahu Inbal on the occasion of his upcoming 90th birthday.

Over the past decade, Maestro Inbal has served as guest conductor, principal conductor, and now laureate conductor, presenting the works of Mahler, Bruckner, and Shostakovich to Taiwanese audiences and leaving a lasting impact on Taiwan’s classical music landscape.

Before the age of 24, Maestro Inbal lived in Jerusalem, deeply immersed in Jewish culture and faith.

Upon receiving the invitation, JTCA hoped to shape this visit into more than a filming schedule—it became a return to familiar spiritual ground. The Maestro and his wife were therefore invited to visit the Jeffrey D. Schwartz Jewish Community Center (JCC).

At JCC, they explored Taiwan’s only mikveh, a rare 17th-century Torah collection, the Temple Plaza, and the synagogue. Maestro Inbal spent a quiet moment in prayer within the sanctuary, where stillness and light created a deeply moving scene.

The visit concluded with authentic Israeli cuisine prepared by the Kosher Culinary Lab. Founder Jeffrey D. Schwartz joined the meal, and conversations flowed naturally—from music to culture and faith—like a reunion among old friends. Before departing, the couple received a traditional Jewish honey cake, symbolizing blessings and a sweet future.

This visit was more than a tour—it was a meaningful reunion of culture and memory, once again highlighting JCC’s role as a space where music, faith, and shared heritage come together.

JTCA 接獲邀請後，希望讓這趟旅程不只是一場拍攝行程，而是一段回到精神原鄉的文化重逢——因此安排殷巴爾夫婦參訪 Jeffrey D. Schwartz Jewish Community Center（JCC）。

在 JCC，夫婦參觀了全臺唯一的浸禮堂、17 世紀妥拉館藏，以及聖殿廣場與猶太聖殿。殷巴爾先生在聖殿中靜坐祈禱，光影與靜默交織成一幕深具情感的畫面，令人動容。

行程最後，夫婦於猶太潔食實驗室品嘗道地以色列料理。創始人薛智偉先生亦加入餐敘，席間自然地談起音樂、文化與信仰，如老友重逢。臨別前，夫婦帶走象徵祝福與甜美未來的猶太傳統蜂蜜蛋糕，為這趟文化之旅畫下溫暖句點。

An Israeli tour group led by the travel agency Taiwanit recently visited the Jeffrey D. Schwartz Jewish Community Center (JCC). As a key hub for Jewish culture and community life in Taiwan, JCC has long been a designated destination for international delegations, serving as an important cultural gateway between Taiwan and the global Jewish community.

The visit began at the synagogue, where Rabbi Shlomi introduced the operations of JCC and shared the story of the Jewish community’s development in Taiwan. Guests donned prayer shawls (tallit) and took part in traditional prayers, experiencing a sense of continuity and cultural belonging within a Jewish space rooted in Taiwan.

The group then gathered at the Kosher Culinary Lab for a specially prepared brunch. While strictly adhering to kosher standards, the dishes thoughtfully incorporated elements inspired by Taiwan—

Mango Coconut Sago and Mini Banana Cakes, reflecting a meaningful exchange between cultures. Short talks and traditional Jewish songs further enriched the experience, transforming the visit into a moment of reconnection rather than a simple tour.

For visitors from Israel, JCC represents more than an overseas community center—it is a place where Jewish culture is understood, respected, and thoughtfully carried forward in Asia. Through ongoing international visits, JCC continues to strengthen its role as a bridge between Taiwan and the world, fostering dialogue, familiarity, and lasting cultural ties.
