JTCA Israel Study Tour Review

Embarking on a study tour to Israel, I was immediately captivated by the country's  diverse landscapes and captivating street views. The warm Mediterranean weather  enveloped me with its gentle embrace as I strolled through bustling streets, rich with  the mosaic of cultures and histories that define Israel's unique charm and natural beauty.

Throughout my journey, I was deeply impressed by the Jewish people's remarkable  ingenuity in facing extreme nature conditions. The innovative prowess of Netafim,  exemplified by their drip irrigation system, showcased their ability to overcome water  scarcity and transform arid landscapes into flourishing farmlands. Witnessing this  profound connection between the Jewish people and their land, I couldn't help but  admire their resilience and unwavering determination in conquering the challenges  posed by nature.

Visiting start-up companies in Israel offered a captivating glimpse into the distinctive  work cultures compared to Taiwan. The Israeli companies encouraged open debates and  discussions, fostering an environment where diverse ideas thrived, and straightforward  communication prevailed, promoting constructive feedback. In contrast, Taiwanese  work culture emphasized harmony and conflict avoidance, resulting in a more reserved  communication approach. This eye-opening experience highlighted the significance of  embracing diverse work cultures to nurture creativity and enhance productivity.

My visit to the Dead Sea provided valuable insights into Israel's exceptional  management of tourist spots and their dedication to promoting the Dead Sea brand.  Striking a balance between commercialization and environmental preservation, Israel's  approach ensured a meaningful and sustainable experience for visitors. This responsible  and visionary strategy left a lasting impression, offering valuable lessons that the  Taiwanese government could undoubtedly learn from.

Experiencing Shabbat in Tiberias, near the Sea of Galilee, was a profoundly  contemplative encounter. The tradition of mindfulness during Shabbat inspired me to  reflect on the significance of consciously choosing the lifestyle we desire, rather than  simply following societal norms. This beautiful practice urged me to incorporate more  moments of self-reflection into my own life, fostering a deeper connection with my  aspirations.

As I journeyed to Masada, I pondered the contrasting perspectives on military service

between Israelis and Taiwanese. Israel's emphasis on preserving historical remains and  integrating the concept of self-defense into daily life played a pivotal role in shaping  their willingness to join the army. In contrast, Taiwanese views on military service often  leaned towards seeing it as a waste of time. This striking difference highlighted how a  government's approach to heritage and national defense can profoundly influence its  citizens' perspectives.

Visiting Jerusalem, a city of immense historical and religious significance, brought to  light the complexities of conflicts and the necessity of maintaining peace. This  experience led me to contemplate alternative approaches to resolving disputes,  emphasizing communication and reconciliation over military intervention. I firmly  believe that all religions share a common foundation of promoting good deeds, and  peaceful resolutions should always be sought whenever possible.

In conclusion, my study tour to Israel was a profound journey that exposed me to the  wonders of nature, the power of technology, and the richness of diverse cultures. It  challenged my preconceptions and left me with valuable insights that will undoubtedly  shape my understanding of the world and guide my future actions.
