delegation of Israeli mayors and city representatives visited Taiwan
On May 13, a delegation of Israeli mayors and city representatives visited Taiwan for a series of municipal and cultural exchanges. In addition to meetings with Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and exchanges with the Taipei and Tainan City Governments, the delegation also made a special visit to the Jeffrey D. Schwartz Jewish Community Center.
The delegation included:
• Mr. Tzvika Brot, Mayor of Bat Yam City and Vice Chairman of the Federation of Local Authorities in Israel
• Mr. Raz Kinstlich, Mayor of Rishon LeZion City
• Ms. Galit Shaul, Mayor of Emek Hefer City
• Ms. Mor Kanditi, Director of International Relations of Bat Yam City
The delegation was welcomed by JTCA’s public relations team and the Rabbi, who introduced the development of the Jewish community in Taiwan, the daily operation of the community center, and the growing curiosity and interest among Taiwanese people toward Jewish culture and kosher traditions.
Amid their busy official schedule, the delegation still chose to dedicate time to visit the JCC, making this visit especially meaningful to us. As a grassroots cultural organization, we believe that the deepest exchanges are not only built through official meetings, but also through genuine human connection, understanding, and shared experiences.
Over the years, more and more distinguished guests from Israel and around the world have visited the JCC, allowing this Jewish community center in Taiwan to gradually become one of Asia’s important gateways for Jewish cultural exchange.
Through festivals, guided tours, cultural programs, and kosher experiences, we continue to help more Jewish visitors see that here in Taiwan, there are people who sincerely seek to understand Jewish culture, respect Jewish traditions, and build meaningful and lasting friendships.
This has always been the core mission and spirit behind JTCA’s ongoing efforts in cultural exchange.
